Administrative detention of Iyad Odeh renewed for 3 months
April 20, 2026

During a hearing at Ofer Military Court, the Israeli occupation authorities extended the administrative detention of 15-year-old Jerusalemite boy Iyad Barakat Odeh for three months. This renewal, justified as "confirming administrative detention," occurred right after his original detention period expired.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem reported that occupation authorities arrested Iyad Odeh at the end of January after raiding his home in the Ras Shehadeh area of Shu’fat refugee camp. Initially, he was given a four-month administrative detention order, which was later shortened to three months. He was scheduled for release on April 16, 2026, but the authorities issued a renewal order for his detention.

Odeh is currently being held in Megiddo Prison.

His sister, Tasneem Odeh, 22, is jailed in Israel, serving 17 months for "incitement" on social media. She has been in detention since December 2024. Notably, their father, Barakat Odeh, was killed in 2022, and his body is still held by Israeli authorities.
