A young man was shot at the Shu’fat refugee camp checkpoint on suspicion of suspicious activity
July 24, 2026

Israeli occupation forces shot and injured a young Palestinian man at the Shu’fat refugee camp checkpoint northeast of Jerusalem on Thursday night.

Eyewitnesses near the checkpoint reported that Israeli forces shot the young man twice in the thigh, leaving him bleeding on the ground. They prevented civilians and medical personnel from reaching him or providing first aid, and large amounts of blood were observed at the scene.

An Israeli police spokesperson stated that border guards shot the man in the lower body after suspecting him, claiming he did not obey orders to stop while near the checkpoint.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces sealed off the area around the checkpoint following the shooting, detained the wounded man, and blocked medical teams from reaching him immediately. His condition and location remain unknown at this time.
