Jerusalem: A self-demolition to a commercial establishment…demolishing an agricultural establishment…and distributing demolition orders
The occupation municipality continued practicing its policy this week against Jerusalemites in terms of demolishing establishments and sweeping lands in addition to distributing demolition orders in Jerusalem.
Demolishing a commercial establishment
Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the occupation municipality forced Suheir Abu Rmeileh to self-demolish her commercial establishment in the neighborhood of Al-Thori, Silwan under the pretext of building without a permit.
Abu Rmeileh explained she had built a small shop (one 35-square meters room built from bricks) two years ago after receiving a small grant from the Agricultural Relief.
She added that the municipality raided her shop three months ago and hung an administrative demolition order on it. Since then, municipality crews have frequently visited her which forced her to self-demolish the shop using hand tools.
Abu Rmeileh has seven children; oldest is 21 and youngest is 8. Her husband works in construction and has asthma.
Demolishing an agricultural establishment
In the village of Sur Baher south of Jerusalem, municipality’s bulldozers demolished an agricultural establishment owned by Nidal Mohammad Dabash. Nidal’s wide explained that municipality crews and Israeli forces raided the establishment on Tuesday morning (20/9/2016) and carried out a wide sweeping operation. They demolished the whole establishment including a vehicle used for storage, a tent, a 6-square meters restroom and another storage. They also damaged the wires around the land, trees and planted seedlings as well as water pipes.
She also explained that the forces used force against her and her husband and prevented them from approaching the land and taking stuff away; she had planted the land 8 months ago.
Demolition orders
Municipality crews distributed on Wednesday (21/9/2016) demolition orders to more than 10 residential buildings in the village of Esawyeh.
Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh, explained that municipality crews distributed demolition order in the village to more than 10 buildings that include 30 apartments where nearly 200 people live.
The establishments are owned by the families of Karameh, Abu Hummos, Abu Rmeileh, Hamdan, Mahmoud and Abdel Nabi. They have been established since 10-30 years and some have building permits.
Abu Hummos also explained that the demolition orders were given to the locals along with aerial maps of their homes; crews also took pictures of the establishments and entrances of the area.
