The child Mus’ab Mheisen- shot by a sniper and arrested from the ambulance
The Israeli Magistrate judge extended on Friday the arrest of 14-year old Mus’ab Mahmoud Mheisen until Sunday; he was shot and injured.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the occupation forces arrested Mheisen on Thursday night from inside an ambulance while he was being transported to the hospital after being shot by a sniper in the village of Esawyeh.
Bashar Mheisen, a paramedic and also the child’s uncle, explained that his nephew was shot in by a bullet in his pelvis and removing it could result in critical damages; the bullet also resulted in other wounds in his lower limbs.
Regarding the injury, Bashar Mheisen explained that Mus’ab was only a few meters away from his house while heading with his family to a social event. Mus’ab was injured in his lower limbs during scattered clashes in the village and was immediately transported in an ambulance to Al-Maqased hospital in Al-Tur and then to Shaare Zedek hospital.
Mheisen said: “While Mus’ab was being transferred from Al-Maqased hospital, a private vehicle followed the ambulance. Upon arrival to Al-Sowaneh intersection near Bet Aort settlement, the ambulance was surrounded by intelligence personnel and occupation soldiers. They stopped the ambulance and forced the crew to a nearby courtyard across from Augusta Victoria hospital in Al-Tur.
He added: “They checked my ID and my cell phone and asked me several questions. Afterwards, we headed to Shaare Zedek hospital and two borders police personnel accompanied us in the ambulance and intelligence personnel followed us in their vehicle until we reached the hospital.”
Mheisen confirmed that the occupation forced detained the injured child in the ambulance along with its crew for nearly one hour despite the child’s critical medical condition as he was bleeding; the family of Mus’ab was able to accompany him until midnight and were then ordered to leave the hospital. Family members were also questioned.
Bashar said his nephew remained in the hospital until Friday morning to receive treatment and was then transferred to Al-Maskobyeh before being presented to court where the judge extended his arrest; he was then transferred to Salah Eddin Street police station for interrogation.
Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh, explained that the occupation forces raid the village on a daily basis and train on raiding streets and neighborhoods and firing grenades and rubber bullets without considering the locals’ safety. Recently, they’ve been ascending the roofs of buildings where snipers are stationed. Mus’ab was injured on Thursday and directly shot by a sniper who was stationed on the roof of one of the buildings.
Abu Hummos added that the soldiers deliberately provoke the residents and initiate problems while raiding the village as they storm into houses and commercial stores and search them; they even try to prevent locals from standing in front of their houses.
