A Martyr in the city of Jerusalem
A Palestinian youth was martyred on Thursday in Al-Wad Street in the Old City of Jerusalem after being shot on the grounds that he had stabbed two policemen.
According to eyewitnesses from Al-Wad Street, at approximately 05:00 local time, soldiers stationed in Al-Wad Street fired dozens of bullets at a young man. They quickly closed the area of the incident and prevented access to the young man who remained on the ground for more than an hour.
The Israeli police said in a statement: The young man stabbed two policemen and lightly wounded, and were taken for treatment.
Following the shooting, the occupation forces closed the Old City of Jerusalem and prevented entry or exit from it. They also prevented worshippersfrom entering Al-Aqsa to perform the Dawn Prayer.
Local Palestinian sources announced that the Martyr is a Palestinian young man from Qalandia Refugee Camp north of Jerusalem, and was identified as 26-yead old Majd Jamal Mteir.
