Re-opening Al-Aqsa Mosque…settlers’incursions…arrests and expulsions
On Sunday dawn, Al-Aqsa Mosque was reopened in front of the worshipers, after suspending their entrance to it for two and a half months, as a preventive measure against the Corona virus, and worshipers entered Al-Aqsa with chants of “God is Great” and cheering, while dozens of settlers stormed the mosque through dung Gate, and the forces arrested 4 Jerusalemites from the courtyards.
The director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani, said that between 3000-4000 worshipers performed the Dawn (Fajer) prayer at Al-Aqsa, and worshipers continued to arrive at the mosque.
Sheikh Al-Kiswani stressed the necessity of adhering to the procedures to prevent corona virus, from physical distance and putting masks and maintaining hygiene, pointing out that all the chapels are open to worshipers, and signs were placed in the courtyards for the place of prayer, and thermometers were distributed at the gates to measure the bodytemperatures of arrivals to the mosque, adding that the Islamic Endowments Department will sterilize and clean the mosque continuously.
The Islamic Endowments Department stated that 233 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa, through Dung Gate, during the morning and afternoon break-in sessions, under heavy protection from the occupation forces and officers.
The occupation forces arrested the Jerusalemite journalist, Cindy Aweis, from Al-Aqsa, while she monitored and photographed the settlers ’incursions, while Mrs. Ra’eda Saeed, was expelled away from Al-Aqsa for a week.
The forces also arrested Louay Jaber, Ihab Abu Sneineh, and Obada Najib, and summoned Nasser Qos, the director of Prisoners Club, and expelled him away from Al-Aqsa for one week.
The court also extended the arrest of Abdel Moneim Al-A’war, 51, until next Thursday, after he was arrested at dawn from his home in Silwan.
