Wide demolition operations in the city of Jerusalem
On Tuesday, demolitions continued in the city of Jerusalem, under the pretext of building without a permit.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem stated that the occupation bulldozers carried out demolition operations in the villages of Issawiya and Jabal Al-Mukabber, while two Jerusalemites implemented demolition decisions in the towns of Silwan and Beit Hanina.
Issawiya
On Tuesday morning, the forces stormed the village of Issawiya in large numbers, accompanied by the municipality’s crews and vehicles, and raided the house of the Mheisen family. After besieging and detaining the residents and preventing them from moving in the area, the bulldozers began to complete the demolition of the remaining columns and walls of the family's two apartments.
The family explained that they demolished their two apartments about 3 weeks ago, by a decision from the municipality, and were surprised in the morning when the area was stormed and what was left was demolished without prior warning, pointing out that the municipality threatened to impose a fine on them, "a demolition fee for the municipality's crews and vehicles and forces."
Zakaria Mheisen explained that he started the construction process last May, and they were stopped and prevented from completing it until the final demolition decision was issued.
The family indicated that the forces detained 3 of the family members in the police vehicle until the demolition was completed.
Jabal Al-Mukabber
The occupation forces and the municipal vehicles stormed the house of the young man, Ehab Al-Hseini, in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber, and forcibly removed the residents from its surroundings, then proceeded to demolish the house, whose owner emptied its contents about 3 weeks ago, after the final demolition decision was issued.
Mrs. Taima Al-Hseini - the mother of the young man, Ihab - explained that the bulldozers stormed the house on Tuesday and demolished it, in addition to leveling the land and the trees surrounding it, amid the imposition of a comprehensive siege on the area to prevent access to the place.
Al-Hseini added that her son Ehab built the house in 2017, and the municipality pursued him with demolition decisions and repeated incursions, explaining that during the month of February, the forces stormed the house 3 times, the first during the night hours to inform them of the need to empty the house and self-demolish it, and a second time to take its measurements and take pictures of it, and the inspector demanded to implement the decision, then the forces stormed the house on Tuesday and carried out the demolition.
Ihab's mother added that the family refused to carry out the manual demolition process, due to the difficulty of the matter, despite the threat of imposing 100,000 shekels as a "demolition fee."
Ihab's mother pointed out that her son and his family of 4 are homeless as of today.
Beit Hanina
The Al-Kiswani family implemented the decision to demolish their two apartments, in the town of Beit Hanina.
The young man, Ammar Abdel Qader Al-Kiswani, explained that the municipality issued a final demolition decision for the two apartments, 10 years after they were built.

On Tuesday evening, Hamza Al-Kilani, self-demolished his house in Ras Al-Amoud neighborhood in the town of Silwan, after rejecting his appeal to the demolition decision.
Al-Kilani explained that his house has existed since 2015, and after two years the municipality issued a demolition decision, which he was able to postpone and pay the fines imposed on him. Six months ago, the municipality returned and issued the demolition decision and rejected the appeal.
He explained that the area of the house is 30 square meters, and 5 people live in it.
In a related matter, Atta Saeed Nu’man, self-demolished an addition to his house - in the Sweih neighborhood in the town of Silwan - an area of 50 square meters, with his own hand, by a decision of the municipality.
