February 28, 2024

On the 14th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the Israeli "War Cabinet" decided to withdraw the security powers over the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Minister of National Security, Itmar Ben Gavir, while the incursions into the towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem continued, and the restrictions imposed on entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque continued as well.

"War Cabinet"... Al-Aqsa and Ramadan

The Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Israeli "War Cabinet" has withdrawn the security powers for the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Minister of National Security in the occupation government, Itmar Ben Gavir, and not imposing restrictions on the entry of Palestinians from the Palestinian 1948 lands and Jerusalem to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan, and this comes several days after the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, accepted Ben Gavir's recommendation "to impose restrictions on worshipers entering Al-Aqsa during the month of Ramadan".

The channel added that the police will limit the number of worshipers to between 50-60 thousand worshipers, according to "security considerations", and the "personal restrictions" will be imposed based on intelligence information, and according to Channel 12's estimates, the police will allow about 50-60 thousand worshippers to enter at the beginning of Ramadan.

Over the past weeks, senior officials in the police, the army and the Shin Bet have warned against any measures taken at Al-Aqsa during Ramadan, which could "inflame the area".

As the month of Ramadan approaches, the Intelligence Service continues to summon the young men for investigation at the "Al-Qishleh" police station in the Old City of Jerusalem, and give them orders to "expel them from Al-Aqsa" for a week, with the possibility of renewal for several months.

Meanwhile, restrictions on worshipers' entry to Al-Aqsa continued since last October 7th, by randomly preventing entry to Al-Aqsa, especially for young men and women, and continuous presence of forces at the gates of the mosque, setting up checkpoints at the gates and stopping all those arriving to it.

Settlers’ incursions into Al-Aqsa also continued, and 93 settlers carried out their incursions into Al-Aqsa during the morning and afternoon incursions on Wednesday.

Continuous intrusions

The forces continue their incursions into the towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem, setting up checkpoints and stopping vehicles, and executing arrests.

In the morning hours, the forces, accompanied by a bulldozer, stormed the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber in Jerusalem, and in the evening hours, they stormed the Al-Qunbar neighborhood in the village and arrested the young man Ahmed Al-Qunbar after searching and destroying his house.
