Day 333 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 333th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", settlers performed their prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, while the intelligence service summoned the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, for investigation, and arrests and raids continued in the city of Jerusalem.
Settlers' prayers in Al-Aqsa
The settlers' prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque are repeated daily, and for about 3 weeks, including "dancing, singing, prostration" collectively and publicly, and prayers led and headed by senior rabbis.
The prayers are concentrated in the eastern area in Al-Aqsa opposite the Dome of the Rock Mosque and several meters away from the Bab Al-Rahma prayer hall "considering that the place is the main entrance to the alleged temple", and the prayers are held under the protection of the police forces accompanying the settlers, who prevent access to the area during the raids, and anyone who tries to walk, photograph, or be present in the place is subject to arrest and expulsion, in a procedure that has been followed for years and affects employees in the Islamic Endowments Department.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem explained that since mid-August, specifically with the anniversary of the so-called "destruction of the Temple", settlers have been performing their public and collective prayers on a daily basis in Al-Aqsa, amid statements from ministers in the occupation government supporting, encouraging and emphasizing "the right of Jews to pray in Al-Aqsa, and the announcement of the Minister of Internal Security Itamar Ben Gavir of his intention to build a synagogue in Al-Aqsa." Meanwhile, 297 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the morning and afternoon raids through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.
Raid…Summoning and Investigation
In the morning hours, the occupation intelligence raided the home of Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, head of the Supreme Islamic Council and Imam and preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the Al-Sowaneh neighborhood, and summoned him for immediate investigation at the "Rooms 4" police station in West Jerusalem.
Sheikh Ekrima Sabri explained that the investigation is a continuation of the investigation last month "the mourning of Ismail Haniyeh", and the supplications during prayers and sermons, and about the meaning of the word "jihad, prisoner". In Sheikh Sabri's response to the investigator, he confirmed that it is his religious right to mourn any dead Muslim, and that the supplications and various terms are found in all religious books and books of preaching and guidance.
Sheikh Sabri was arrested at the beginning of last August, hours after delivering the Friday sermon in Al-Aqsa, and mourning Sheikh Haniyeh, then he was expelled from Al-Aqsa for a week, and renewed for 6 months.
Arrests
The raids on towns and neighborhoods in Jerusalem continued, and in the afternoon hours, the forces arrested a number of Palestinians holding "West Bank" IDs, on the pretext of "entering Jerusalem illegally." The forces also raided the Shu’fat refugee camp, and set up checkpoints in the city's streets.
