Day 410 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 410th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, the occupation forces opened fire on a young man from Jerusalem, bulldozers demolished a mosque, while the municipality forced a family from Jerusalem to self-demolish their apartments, and arrests continued in the city of Jerusalem.
Shooting at a Jerusalemite
A young man was shot by the occupation forces while walking at the Shu’fat refugee camp checkpoint north of Jerusalem.
Eyewitnesses who were present at the military checkpoint at the moment of the shooting said that the young man was walking a few meters away from the soldiers stationed at the checkpoint, and they shot him, which resulted in his injury in the lower part of his body.
The Shu’fat refugee camp checkpoint is located at the entrance to the camp, and residents suffer from inspection procedures at the checkpoint, especially in the morning hours when students, workers and employees go to school and work, and in the afternoon and evening hours.
The witnesses said that the forces left the young man bleeding on the ground, and prevented anyone from approaching him or providing him with first aid, then he was transferred by ambulance while under arrest.
The witnesses said that the young man was injured in his lower body part.
Shu’fat refugee camp is the only camp in Jerusalem that is located within the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem, and consists of the neighborhoods of Ras Khamis, Ras Shehadeh, and Dahiyat al-Salam.
Demolition of Al-Shayah Mosque
The occupation municipality crews, accompanied by police officers, stormed Al-Shayah Mosque in the village of Jabal al-Mukabber, south of Jerusalem.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center-Jerusalem explained that the forces, accompanied by the municipality crews and their bulldozers, stormed the village of Jabal al-Mukabber, then surrounded Al-Shayah Mosque in the village, closed the roads leading to it, and prevented access to the area.
The Information Center explained that Al-Shayah Mosque has been standing for 20 years, and the municipality had issued several demolition notices for the mosque, which stopped for a period, but the prosecutions resumed again three months ago, until the court issued the final demolition decision.
The mosque has an area of 50 square meters, and serves the residents of the area and its children "for prayer and learning the Quran."
Self-demolition of two apartments
The occupation municipality forced the Matar family to self-demolish their two apartments in the village of Jabal al-Mukabber under the pretext of building without a permit.
The two brothers, Louay and Alaa Matar, self-demolished their apartments, after the occupation municipality issued a demolition order under the pretext of building without a permit.
The occupation municipality forces Jerusalemites to self-demolish their facilities, and in case of refusal, they are fined a fine called "demolition fee", where the Jerusalemite is forced to pay the labor and demolition fee to the municipality crews, police officers and bulldozers.
The two apartments are home to 16 people, including 12 children, and were built in 2013. A "building violation" of 160 thousand shekels was imposed on the family.
Verdict
The Magistrate Court issued a verdict of imprisonment for Sheikh Naim Odeh from the town of Silwan for a year and a half.
Sheikh Odeh was arrested last October.
During the current month, the courts issued prison sentences for three imams and preachers of mosques in Jerusalem, on charges of "incitement and solidarity with Gaza", and they are: Sheikh Jamal Mustafa from Issawiya was sentenced to 3 years in prison, Sheikh Mahmoud Abu Khdair from Shu’fat was sentenced to a year and a month in prison, and today Sheikh Naim Odeh from Silwan was also sentenced to a year and a half in prison.
The occupation authorities have continued to detain Sheikh Issam Amira from Sur Baher for a year.
Arrests
The occupation forces stormed the town of Al-Tur and arrested 3 young men.
The occupation intelligence summoned the freed prisoner Atef Obeid immediately after his release and the end of his 33-month sentence. After his detention, they released him on the condition that no one gather to receive him and no flags or banners be raised.
Al-Aqsa raids
181 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the occupation forces, through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.
