Day 436 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 436th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, the occupation municipality forced the Bashir family to self-demolish their home in the town of Silwan, while a special session was held to discuss objections to the imposition of financial fines on a number of Silwan families under the pretext of "parking vehicles on lands belonging to a Jewish cemetery", and the raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque continued.
Bashir Family
Yesterday evening, the Bashir family self-demolished their apartment in the Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan.
The young men carried out the demolition using self-demolition tools, to avoid the municipality crews carrying out the demolition and imposing new sums of money on the family "demolition fees" for the municipality crews and the accompanying forces.
The Bashir family said that their house has been standing for 15 years, and its area is 50 square meters.
A session to discuss expensive violations
A session was held to discuss objections from the residents and families of the Wadi Al-Rababa neighborhood in Silwan, to financial fines imposed on them under the pretext of "parking their vehicles on lands belonging to a Jewish cemetery/Samboski".
Shadi Sumrein explained to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the Kadisha settlement association stipulated that the cancellation of the fines imposed on the residents be in exchange for signing and agreeing to evacuate at any moment. Last month, the residents of Wadi al-Rababa neighborhood were surprised by the imposition of financial fines worth “50 thousand shekels” on a number of families under the pretext of “parking their vehicles on cemetery land.” They said that their vehicles had been parked in front of their homes for years, and accordingly they filed objections and demanded the cancellation of the fines.
The occupation authorities have been planting fake graves in the lands of Wadi al-Rababa neighborhood for years, and recently placed a gate on these lands and named them "Samboski Cemetery.”
During the session, the families' lawyer presented photos and papers documenting the placement of fake graves in the neighborhood's lands "spreading stones on the lands", and requested in the session to bring an expert to examine the presence of bodies inside the cemetery.
The residents said that the bargaining "to cancel the violations in exchange for allowing vehicles to be parked and agreeing to evacuate the land at any moment" is a prelude to complete confiscation and seizure of it and preventing residents from using it permanently, and thus implementing settlement plans.
Al-Aqsa raids
178 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.
Road closures and arrests
Forces were deployed in large numbers at the entrances to the city of Jerusalem, police checkpoints were placed in several junctions, and a helicopter flew over the city.
The Israeli police said in a statement that they arrested 13 young men on the pretext of entering Jerusalem illegally "without permits", and they also arrested the driver of the vehicle.
In the morning hours, the police said they arrested 17 young men on the pretext of entering Jerusalem illegally "without permits", and they arrested the driver of the vehicle.
They also said they arrested 21 young men last weekend on the same pretext.
The forces continued to set up police checkpoints in the streets of Jerusalem and inside the neighborhoods.
