Update…Sentences…arrests

On Monday, the District Court issued sentences against four young men from Jerusalem.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center-Jerusalem explained that the judge issued prison sentences against the following:

• Karam Salaymeh (13 years)

• Mohammad Hamdan (10 years)

• Suhaib Nabata (9 years)

• Ja’far Salaymeh (4 years)

Mohammad Mahmoud, a lawyer for the Wadi Hilweh Information Center-Jerusalem, explained that the young men were convicted of several charges, most notably: "shooting, throwing Molotov cocktails, participating in clashes, and possession of weapons."

The court also issued a 10-month prison sentence against Saeb Dirbas and a fine of 5,000 shekels.

Dirbas was arrested on October 9, 2023, and released in mid-January 2024, but remained under house arrest. According to the court's decision, Dirbas will turn himself in to serve his sentence on May 1, 2025.

Amr Abu Khdeir also turned himself in to serve his 18-month sentence.

The forces also arrested a young man from the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber on charges of publishing "incitement and glorification of the events of October 7."

At the entrance to Jerusalem, Musta’ribeen individuals (undercover police) arrested a young man after detaining him.

At the entrance to Jerusalem, the forces arrested six Palestinian youths on charges of "illegally entering Jerusalem," as they hold West Bank IDs. The driver of the vehicle was also arrested, according to an Israeli police statement.

In a related development, the police said they closed a store in Jerusalem on charges of "employing Palestinians with West Bank IDs," and arrested the store's employees and owner.

The police added in a statement that they arrested 518 West Bank ID holders and 70 others accused of assisting them during the past week.
