Releasing the wounded boy Radi Nasser after 10 days of detention
On Wednesday, a District Court judge decided to release 16-year-old Jerusalemite Radi Nasser on condition of house arrest and payment of cash bail. This followed a series of extension sessions, investigations, and medical reports related to his injuries.
Lawyers for the Wadi Hilweh Information Center – Jerusalem, Mohammad Mahmoud, Siraj Abu Arafa, and Firas al-Jabrini, explained that the session in the Magistrates' Court was held to consider a request to extend the boy's detention. After presenting legal arguments, the judge decided to release him on the aforementioned conditions.
However, Israeli intelligence rejected the release order and appealed the Magistrates' Court decision to the District Court, while the center's lawyers appealed the release conditions.
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud stated that the District Court held a session to consider the appeal, and the judge upheld the Magistrates' Court decision and the release conditions.
Lawyer Mahmoud indicated that the Intelligence Service asked the Public Prosecution to appeal to the Supreme Court, but the prosecution rejected the request.
The Intelligence Service had previously requested that the boy's detention be extended for seven days to complete the investigation.
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud stated that Radi Nasser was arrested on October 12, 2025, during a raid on the village of Issawiya. He was injured by three bullet to his lower limbs, requiring multiple surgeries to remove bullets and shrapnel and treat his nerves.
During his detention, the court held four in absentia extension hearings due to his hospitalization. He was initially treated at Shaare Zedek Hospital, and he was recently transferred to Al-Ramle Prison Hospital, from where he will be released.
