March 25, 2016

The Musta’ribeen unit (undercover police) arrested on Friday night 4 Jerusalemite children from the neighborhood of Al-Sowaneh east of the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that Musta’ribeen individuals attacked a group of children near the settlement of “Bet Aort” (established on the lands of Al-Sowaneh) and arrested four of them.

The occupation police claimed in a statement that they arrested four Jerusalemites under the pretext of throwing a Molotov cocktail towards the settlement.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center’s lawyer explained that the police arrested four children and transferred them to “Rooms number 4” at Al-Maskobyeh in West Jerusalem. They are: 17-year old Abdullah Samer Abu Sbitan, 17-year old Basem Maher Sbitani, 16-year old Siraj Mahmoud Abu Sbitan and 17-year old Mahmoud Ahmad Abulhawa.

The detainees explained to the lawyer during a visit that they were arrested near the intersection of Al-Tur by the Musta’ribeen unit while some of them were on their way to the pharmacy; others were working in the area or heading home.

The lawyer added that signs of assault were clear on Basem and Siraj.

On the other hand, the occupation police extended on Friday night the arrest of 15-year old Sundos Samir Mohammad Obeid under the pretext of “possession of a knife and attempting to carry out a stabbing attack”.

The forces had arrested Sundos Obeid near the entrance of the village of Esawyeh in Jerusalem.
