Extending the arrest of journalist Samah Dweik until completing the legal procedures against her
The District Court extended on Wednesday the 25-year old journalist Samah Dweik until completing the legal procedures against her.
Dweik was arrested on April 10th and was accused of publishing inciting posts on her Facebook page; she was transferred in between Al-Maskobyeh and Al-Ramleh prison.
Lawyer Ramzi Kateelat had explained that the public prosecution submitted an indictment against Dweik to the Magistrate court including charges of publishing 18 posts on her Facebook account. The judge decided to release her on condition of house-arrest until completing the legal procedures against her and with a personal bail and a third-party bail as well as preventing her from using computers, internet or cell phone but the prosecution appealed the decision at the District Court which approved the appeal on Wednesday and cancelled the Magistrate court’s decision.
