Prison sentences…extensions of arrest…releases

The District Court sentenced two young Jerusalemite men for actual imprisonment.

Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the District judge sentenced 22-year old Khalil Marwan Hasan Jayousi from the village of Al-Tur for 6 and a half years of actual imprisonment after he was convicted of membership in a cell working for Fateh Movement that threw Molotov Cocktails and explosive devices at the settlement outposts and occupation soldiers in Al-Tur.

Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the District judge sentenced the child Hussein Sub Laban for 9 months of actual imprisonment and a suspended probation of 6 months.

On the other hand, the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of 23-year old Asma; Emad Mughrabi (wife of isolated Jerusalemites prisoner Abdullah Naser Mughrabi) until Sunday for interrogation. Abu Asab explained that Mughrabi was arrested from the village of Turmosaya in Ramallah and was transferred for interrogation at Al-Maskobyeh police center in West Jerusalem.

The judge extended the arrest of the child Bara’ Mahmoud until the end of June, Mohammad Abu Diab and Mohammad Sarhan until 12/7/2016, Hakim Dirbas until 31/5/2016, Ibrahim Musleh until 26/5/2016, Daoud Abu Sbitan until 12/7/2016 for sentencing and Abed Abu Sneineh until 3/6/2016.

The judge also extended the arrest of Mohammad Bader until 27/5/2016; he is accused of carrying out a stabbing attack in the area of Al-Musrara in Jerusalem.

Lawyer Mahmoud added that the judge refused to reduce the house-arrest conditions imposed on the child Omar Tawil while allowed the minor Adham Ja’abees to go to school to take his exams.

The police released Suzan Abu Sbitan on condition of house-arrest for 3 days, and released Ali Abu Jamal after he was arrested and interrogated for several hours.

Last Wednesday, the forces arrested three young Jerusalemite men from the village of Esawyeh, they are: Mansour Naser, Mohammad Ashraf Abu Hummos and Nasim Awwad.

The occupation intelligence decided to isolated 36-year old Jamil Issa Abbasi from Al-Aqsa Mosque until the 25th of August; Abbasi was previously isolated from Al-Aqsa 18 times for various durations.
