The occupation police release two children after detaining them for several hours on charges of throwing stones
The occupation police released on Monday night two Jerusalemite children after detaining and interrogating them for several hours on charges of throwing stones.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Israeli police released 11-year old Ayoub Dirbas and 12-year old Mahmoud Marwan Odeh after interrogating them at Salah Eddin Street police station on charges of throwing stones in the village of Esawyeh.
Ayoub’s father explained to the center that the occupation forces raided the house of the children’s grandfather while the family was preparing to celebrate the “Tawjihi” results and claimed that the children threw stones towards them around 7 p.m.; the family denied the charges but the Israeli forces insisted on arresting the two children.
Ayoub’s father added that the forces took the two children alone in the police vehicle and refused to have an adult accompany them. He was told they will be detained at Al-Maskobyeh police center in West Jerusalem but found out they were detained in Salah Eddin Street police station after he had headed to Al-Maskobyeh.
Dirbas added that the police interrogated the children alone and did not allow any family members to attend the interrogation.
He also said that the police unconditionally released his child while Mahmoud Odeh was released with a 1000-NIS bail.
