Prison sentences…extensions of arrest…releases

The judges of Israeli courts sentenced on Thursday several Jerusalemites and extended the arrest of others.

Prison sentences

Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the judges sentenced each of:

  • Abed Abu Sneineh: 16 months of actual imprisonment and a suspended probation of 3 months for three years.
  • Mohammad Abu Ryaleh: 8 months of actual imprisonment and a suspended probation of 6 months for three years.
  • Nadim Obeid (minor): 3 months of public service, a suspended probation of 4 months for two years and a 3000-NIS fine.

Extensions of arrest

Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the judge extended the arrest of Abed Abbasi until Sunday, Amir Karaki until 8/11/2016, Rami Mheisen until 21/11/2016, Majd Ahmad until 7/11/2016, Odai Yousef and Haitham Khweis and Mohammad Abu Sbeih until 27/11/2016, Fathi Dweik until 24/1/2017, Mousa Abu Ghannam until 2/11/2016.

Also, the judge extended the arrest of Dia’ Obeid until 31/10/2016, Mohammad Mousa Abbasi until 2/11/2016 and Mohammad Shyoukhi, twin-brother of Martyr Ali Shyoukhi, until next Monday; the public prosecution submitted a prosecutor’s permit to file an indictment against him including charges of incitement on Facebook.

Releases

The judge decided to release the children Mohannad Abu Asab and Adham Za’tari on conditions of a 500-NIS bail, house-arrest for 5 days and a third-party bail for each while Munir Ajloni was released on conditions of house-arrest for 5 days and a third-party bail.

Obada Najib was released with a third-party bail and Ragheb Abu Sneineh and Naser Ajloni were released with a 500-NIS bail and a third-party bail for each.

The Israeli authorities requested to renew the administrative arrest against Ahmad Abu Ryaleh; the judge extended his arrest until 3/11/2016.

In a related matter, the occupation forces arrested Tarek Tamimi and Mohammad Salim Ajloni from the Old City of Jerusalem on Thursday night.
