Sentencing two children for actual imprisonment after being under house-arrest for 15 months…arresting a woman and a child
The Israeli Supreme Court sentenced on Thursday two children from Silwan to one year in prison after they had been under house-arrest for the last 15 months.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the Supreme Court sentenced 16-year old Omar Daoud Abbasi and Baker Mahmoud Abbasi for one year of actual imprisonment. They were arrested in July 2015 by the Musta’ribeen unit (undercover police) and were severely beaten. They were released after two weeks on conditions of house-arrest and a bail for each; they were accused of throwing Molotov Cocktails.
The Supreme Court ordered the two children to turn themselves-in to serve their sentences next month.
