Arresting 6 Jerusalemites from the village of Esawyeh…prison sentences…extensions of arrest…deporting two children from the Old City of Jerusalem
The occupation forces arrested 5 Jerusalemites after raiding their homes in the village of Esawyeh.
Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the Israeli forces arrested Mohammad Abdel Ra’ouf Mahmoud, Mohammad Ayman Obeid, Mahmoud Awadallah Dirbas, Ayoub Hamdan and 55-year old Hasan Zmourod.
On the other hand, the Israeli judges sentenced 4 Jerusalemite children and deported two others from the Old City of Jerusalem for one month.
Prison sentences
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the judges sentenced four children, they are:
- Tawfiq Othman: actual imprisonment for 12 months, a suspended probation of 8 months for 3 years and a 1000-NIS fine.
- Akram Mustafa: actual imprisonment for 8 months and a suspended probation of 6 months for 3 years
- Yazan N’aji: actual imprisonment for 16 months and a suspended probation of 6 months for 3 years
- Ali Atyeh: actual imprisonment for 10 months and a suspended probation of 6 months for 3 years
- Nader Naser (24): actual imprisonment for 24 months and a suspended probation of 45as explained by his family
Extensions of arrest
The judge extended the arrest of Amjad Abu Sbeih until 10/11/2016, Shadi Mheisen until completing the legal procedures against him, Mohammad Halayqa until 15/12/2016, Wajih Sbitan until 5/12/2016 and Yousef Abu Jom’a until 11/12/2016.
Conditional releases and deportations from the Old City of Jerusalem
The judge decided to released Mohammad Abu Nee’ and Hamzeh Abu Hadwan on condition of deportation from the Old City of Jerusalem for 30 days.
Releases
The judge decided to release Jibreel Balawleh on condition of house-arrest for 7 days, Ayoub Abed and Odai Yousef with a 7-thousand NIS bail and house-arrest for 4 days for each. He also released Hashem Abu Khaled on condition of house-arrest for 7 days and unconditionally released Odai Dari. Ishaq Afaneh was released with a 1000-NIS bail and house-arrest for 8 days; they all had to sing third-party bails.
Appeal to release order
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the Magistrate judge decided to release Suhaib Afaneh and Abdullah Afaneh with a bail and house-arrest conditions but the public prosecution requested to freeze the decision until appealing it at the District Court which in its turn approved the appeal and extended their arrest until 13/11/2016.
The judge also decided to release the child Adam Mustafa with a bail and house-arrest conditions but the prosecution appealed the decision at the District Court and therefore extended the arrest of Mustafa until 8/11/2016.
On other hand, the head of Prisoner’s Club in Jerusalem Naser Qos explained that the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Jihad Qos, Mohammad Jaber and Mutasem Hajjaj until Tuesday and Qamar Badwai until Wednesday.
