Suppressing freedom of opinion: Preventing a cultural event…raiding a media organization and arresting a journalist
December 8, 2016

The occupation forces prevented on Thursday night a cultural event from being held at the Palestinian National theatre “Hakawati” under the pretext of being organized by the Popular Front.

Occupation forces raided the theatre and evacuated the people and hung an order to close it from 5:00 p.m. until midnight in addition to a ban on organizing the event of “Sing with us”.

According to the order which was signed by the Chief of Police in Jerusalem, banning the activity was because of being organized by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine which is a terrorist organization based on the “Anti-terrorism” law.

In another form of suppression freedom of opinion in Jerusalem, the occupation forces and intelligence personnel raided on Thursday morning “Elia for Media” organization in Salah Eddin Street. The searched the entire place and confiscated computers and files and then arrested Lama Ghosheh, a journalist at the organization, who is currently preparing reports in which she documents all Israeli violations in the city.
