Prison sentences…extensions of arrest
The District judge sentenced on Wednesday 17-year old Akram Tawfiq Ibrahim Abu Sarhan for 9 years of actual imprisonment and imposed a 10-thousand NIS fine on him on charges of “possession of a knife and planning to carry out an attack”; he is a resident of the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber.
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the judge also sentenced Daoud Samir Abu Sbitan for 4 years of actual imprisonment on charges of throwing Molotov Cocktails and stones, and extended the arrest of Majd Mustafa, Mohammad Masri and Mahmoud Dirbas until completing the legal procedures against them.
In the same context, the judge sentenced Odai Khweis for 40 months and Mutasem Abulhawa for 50 months of actual imprisonment.
The judge also extended the arrest of Odai Gheith and Maher Sarhan until Friday, Mohammad Joulani until 8/1/2017 and Anwar Al-Qaq until 25/12/2016.
The 3-month administrative arrest imposed on Malek Aweisat was also approved and confirmed on Wednesday.
