Arrests and assaults against Al-Aqsa Mosque’s guards
Four of Al-Aqsa Mosque’s guards were injured on Tuesday with various bruises after they were assaulted by the occupation forces while being in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa; the forces arrested one guard and transferred him for interrogation.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that 179 settlers including 84 students broke into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the morning break-in session in the form of consecutive groups.
Firas Dibs, head of public relations and media at the Islamic Awqaf department, explained that one group entered the courtyards and upon reaching Al-Rahmeh Gate they started practicing their religious rituals under the protection of the police. Special Forces attacked the guards, pushed and assaulted them.
Dibs added that two guards, Murad Hamad and Mohammad Badran, were injured during the assault. Badran was transferred to the hospital for treatment while another guard, Emad Abdeen, was arrested.
On the other hand, Rami Khatib from the Public Relations department explained that the occupation authorities arrested 11 guards since yesterday morning and released only 4 of them, they are: Mohannad Idris, Ahed Joudeh, Salman Abu Mayaleh and Louai Abu Sa’ed.
The detainees are: Hamzeh Nimer, Arafat Najib, Qasem Kamal, Khalil Tarhooni, Samer Qabbani, Usama Siam and Emad Abdeen.
