Pictures: Suppressing a sit-in held in solidarity with prisoners in Jerusalem…Assaults and arrests
The occupation forces arrested on Wednesday three Jerusalemite activists after raiding the courtyard of the Red Cross in the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem during a sit-in held in solidarity with prisoners currently on hunger-strike for the 31st consecutive day.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the forces arrested Mohammad Dakkaq, Kayed Rajabi and the director of Elia’ Institution, Ahmad Safadi, after raiding and attacking the participants in the event organized by the National Forces, Prisoner’s Club and Jerusalemite prisoners’ families’ committee.
Intelligence personnel, Special Forces and police officers raided the courtyard of the Red Cross headquarters while a group of demonstrators were leaving and assaulted them. Areen Za’aneen was assaulted and beaten by the forces; he was transferred in an ambulance for treatment.
Eyewitnesses explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the occupation forces arrested Obada Najib and Mahmoud Najib from the Old City of Jerusalem.
