February 24, 2018

Israeli intelligence and occupation forces stormed the Philadelphia restaurant on Al-Zahra Street in Jerusalem on Saturday evening, and prevented a dinner for Jerusalemite journalists and closed the restaurant until Sunday morning.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the intelligence and occupation forces stormed the Philadelphia restaurant and searched it, and then forced all the people to leave, while a borders control unit was stationed at the outer gate of the restaurant and prevented anyone from entering it.

The center added that the Israeli intelligence services placed a decision banning dinner at the restaurant and elsewhere, under the pretext of being organized by the Democratic Front. According to the ban, this event is for a "terrorist organization", and the order was issued by the "commander of the Jerusalem area."

The center added that the occupation intelligence arrested the director of the Elia Youth Media Foundation Ahmed Safadi, and the owner of the restaurant Zuheir Izhiman, while Shadi Matour, secretary of Fatah movement in Jerusalem and Awad Salaymeh, member of Fateh movement, received summons for interrogation.

.
The occupation intelligence pushed away journalist Ahmed Jalajel and forced him out of the restaurant.

The owner of the restaurant expressed his astonishment of the raid and said: “The economic situation is very difficult in the city of Jerusalem and today the restaurant is closed from the afternoon hours until the next morning, where we are prevented from receiving any guests knowing that we had prepared the food according to prior reservation".
