Jabal Al Mukabber- A Jerusalemite self-demolishes his house
On Saturday, Ja’abees family self-demolished its home in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber following an order from the occupation municipality.
The family explained that they had built the house a year ago, and the occupation municipality issued a demolition order against it. The family was able to freeze the order, until it was given a deadline on Friday stating that the house must be demolished before Sunday morning. Otherwise, municipal staff will execute the demolition and the family has to pay all costs.
The family added that the municipality imposed a fine on them for building without a permit, and they paid it. They also tried to license the house where 7 individuals lived but the municipality rejected the request.
