August 16, 2021

The occupation municipality forced the Jerusalemite, Mohammad Dweik, to self-demolish his house in the village of Al-Tur, under the pretext of building without a permit.

Dweik explained that he built his house next to the family’s house about 6 months ago, with an area of 70 square meters, and after completing the construction and preparing it for housing, the occupation authorities issued a demolition order.

Dweik added: "The court sessions coincided with my wedding date, as the first decision was issued only 20 days before the wedding date, and today I am carrying out the demolition process after refusing to freeze it less than 3 months after my wedding and living in the house."

Dweik said: "I demolished the house with my own hands, with the help of family and friends, using self-demolition tools to not cause any damage to my family's apartment, and to avoid paying new fines and violations. I did not finish the payments for construction and furniture yet."
