Assault, beating and evacuating the area of Damascus Gate by force

The occupation forces arrested on Tuesday evening 6 Jerusalemites from the area of Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, during the crackdown and prosecution of those in the area.

The occupation forces with their various teams, "the officers, the police, the undercover unit, the cavalry teams, the sewage car, and the intelligence", pursued those present in the area of Damascus Gate and completely evacuated the place. Then they started chasing those in the streets near Damascus Gate, during which they fired sound grenades and sprayed waste water, while beating and pushing the young men.

The Red Crescent said that its crews dealt with a 14-year-old's foot injury caused by a sound grenade, and she was taken to the hospital after providing first aid to her.

Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces arrested 6 Jerusalemites from Damascus Gate area, and severely beat some of them.

Firas Al-Jabrini, a lawyer for the Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem, explained that the forces arrested the boys: Yehya Badran, 11, Hamza Al-Shawish, 16, Mohammad Abu Sneineh, 16, and Muntaser Al-Ahsoni.

Al-Jabrini explained that the police released the boy, Yehya Badran, without condition, because he is "less than the age of responsibility, under 12 years old" and it is forbidden to investigate him according to the law.

Al-Jabrini added that the police released the two children, Mohammad Maher Zaytoun, 13, and Jihad Kayed Al-Rajabi, 10, who were arrested from the town of Silwan, while they extended the detention of the child, Ayham Al-Hadreh, 13, to be presented to the court on Wednesday.
