Arrests…expulsions from Al-Aqsa Mosque
September 22, 2022

On Thursday evening, the occupation forces arrested 5 Jerusalemites, while expelling others from Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem stated that the forces arrested a young man from the Old City, after beating and pushing him.

The center learned that the forces arrested 4 boys: Wadi’ Hamad, Zaid Idris, Ibrahim Moqbel, and Ibrahim Al-Jamal.

On the other hand, the occupation intelligence handed several Jerusalemites expulsion decisions from Al-Aqsa for periods ranging from one week to six months after summoning them for interrogation or arresting them after storming their homes. Among them were: Mrs. Zeina Omar, Mrs. Sahar Al-Natsheh, the freed prisoner Majid Al-Jo’beh, Amir Al-Thaher, Mohammad Abu Zneid, and Zaid Ghorab.

The occupation intelligence also renewed the travel-ban on the freed prisoner, Yaqoub Abu Asab, for a period of one month, subject to renewal.

The center explained that Abu Asab has been banned from traveling since 2020, “permanently renewing the ban.” He spent about 15 years in prison and was released from the last arrest in 2018, and since that time the occupation forces have pursued him with various decisions, including house arrest in his place of residence in Al-Sowaneh neighborhood, denying him entry to Al-Aqsa, breaking into and searching his house, and confiscating sums of money.
