October 14, 2024

On the 374th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, the occupation forces carried out an arrest campaign in the city of Jerusalem, while 3 families emptied their homes in the town of Silwan in preparation for implementing the decision to self-demolish them. The settlers also continued to storm Al-Aqsa, while continuing calls to intensify the storming during the "Sukkot" holiday.

Arrests and Raids

At dawn, the forces, accompanied by the intelligence, stormed the Old City of Jerusalem, and carried out arrests after storming homes. The detainees were identified as: Yousef Hazina, Adnan Al-Shallodi, Saad Noreen, Ahmed Al-Hawash, Mohammad Bader, and Majd Al-Rash.

In the evening, the forces stormed the town of Silwan, and arrested the boy Adam Zaytoun.

Meanwhile, after midnight, the police released the photojournalists Amir Abed Rabbo and Mohammad Al-Sharif, on condition that they be deported from the Old City of Jerusalem for a week "with the possibility of renewal". The forces confiscated the mobile phones and photography equipment from the photographers, noting that they were arrested yesterday while working in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, the court extended the detention of the wounded young man, Mohammed Abu Hashem, from Issawiya, until tomorrow, and held a hearing in absentia for him today, as he was in the hospital after being shot on Saturday evening with two bullets "in the back and leg." Meanwhile, the court released the two young men, Qassam Attoun and his brother Dajana, yesterday, on the condition of house arrest for 5 days, and paying a cash bail of 1,000 shekels for each of them.

Al-Aqsa raids

159 settlers carried out their raids into Al-Aqsa Mosque, during the morning and afternoon incursion periods, through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem, and prayed in Al-Aqsa under police guard.

The alleged Temple groups continued to call on settlers to carry out large and collective raids on Al-Aqsa during the Jewish Sukkot holiday, which begins in two days.

Evacuating 3 homes after the final demolition decision

The families of Majd Ghaith and Jamal Ghaith emptied their homes in the Wadi Yasoul neighborhood in Silwan, in preparation for implementing the demolition decision.

Majd Ghaith's home has been built since 2012, and he lives in it with his wife and 3 children.

As for Jamal Ghaith's home, it has been built since 2015, and he lives in it with his family of 5 members.

In 2017, the municipality imposed a "building violation" on him in the amount of 28 thousand shekels.

Abdul Karim Qaoud Al-Tamimi also emptied his house in the neighborhood, to implement the decision to self-demolish it after the municipality refused any postponement or to freeze of the demolition decision.

Al-Tamimi explained that the municipality issued the final demolition decision 21 days ago, and gave him several days to implement the decision, otherwise its crews and bulldozers would carry out the demolition process and he would have to pay "demolition fees of 100 thousand shekels."

The young man Abdul Karim explained that the house has been standing for 7 years, and he lives in it with his family of 5, and during the past years a "building violation fine" of 28 thousand shekels was imposed on him.
