Sentences, arrests and closure of commercial facilities
February 24, 2025

The occupation police arrested a young man from the town of Al-Tur on Monday evening, while they arrested 5 children from the Old City of Jerusalem.

The police said in a statement that they arrested a 20-year-old young man, claiming that he attempted to carry out a run-over operation, as he drove quickly towards a force in Al-Tur and did not injure any of them, so he was pursued and arrested.

In the afternoon hours, the forces arrested 5 children from the Old City.

Sentences

The court also issued a prison sentence against the young men: Ahmed Shehadeh Amireh with two and a half years in prison, and against the young men Mohammad Raed Attoun and Mahmoud Baher Attoun with two years in prison for each.

Closing shops and pursuing young men from the West Bank

Meanwhile, the police closed two shops in Beit Hanina and Kufor Aqab, on the pretext of employing "workers from the West Bank without a permit", and the forces arrested 6 young men with West Bank IDs, including the owners of the two shops.

The police said in a statement yesterday that they have closed about 20 shops since the beginning of this year for the same reason.

Release on condition of house arrest and deportation

The court decided to release the boy Mohammad Abu Al-Hummus (17 years old) on condition of house arrest and deportation from his hometown of Issawiya until the end of the legal procedures against him.

The boy Abu Al-Hummus was arrested on 2/11/2025, several days after he was injured by shrapnel from an explosive bullet in the village of Issawiya, as he suffers from shrapnel in several parts of his body (neck, feet, hand, head), and some shrapnel still remain in his head.
