An appeal to the public prosecution regarding the decision of Ardan to stop releasing the bodies of Jerusalemite Martyrs
Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, submitted an appeal to the public prosecution regarding the decision of the Minster of Internal Security, Gilad Ardan, to stop releasing the bodies of Jerusalemite Martyrs under the pretext of the incitement that occurred during the funeral of Martyr Ala’ Abu Jamal in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber.
Lawyer Mahmoud requested to continue releasing the bodies of Jerusalemite Martyrs as recommended by the Israeli Supreme Court and confirmed in the appeal that Abu Jamal family were committed to all the conditions imposed on them by the Israeli police starting with receiving the body until burying it in the village’s cemetery; the claims made about not abiding to the rules and incitement during the funeral is untrue.
He explained that the number of participants while burying the Martyrs was in accordance with the agreement made with the police while the gathering of young men was outside the cemetery near the Mosque.
Lawyer Mahmoud added in the appeal that the police and intelligence personnel were present around and inside the cemetery during the releasing and burying processes and did not object to the number of young men present in the area.
The occupation authorities are still detaining the bodies of 6 Jerusalemite Martyrs in their freezers where the longest has been detained since last October.
